Are you interested in becoming a hockey referee? The Sault Hockey Officials Association (SHOA) is hosting a Referee Clinic on November 8th! This is a fantastic opportunity for both current players and alumni to stay involved in the game and gain valuable officiating skills.
Fee Reimbursement for SFHA Players:
The Sault Female Hockey Association will cover 50% of the training fees for any SFHA player who completes the referee course on November 8th and officiates 10 games.
Credits will be issued once game completion is confirmed with the referee association.
How to Register:
Head to the Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) website and visit the “Officials” section. Once there, navigate to “Officials Entry Level | NOHA Hockey” for more details specific to this clinic and ensure you complete all necessary steps.
Eligibility:
Participants must be 14 years old by December 31st of this year.
Two-Part Registration Process:
Online Course
Start by completing the introductory online course ($19.50) (will link)
In-Person Clinic on November 8th
The in-person course is $90.50 and will complete your certification process.
Timeline Flexibility:
While completing the online portion before November 8th is preferred, if time doesn’t permit, you can still attend the in-person clinic on November 8th. There will be a separate link for those who cannot complete the online portion in time. However, completing the online course, is a prerequisite for officiating under Hockey Canada insurance.
