Coaching Application - Jr Greyhound Girls
Please complete the fillable form and include attachments as requested. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by the VP Jr Greyhounds and the coaching selection committee.
We would like to thank you for applying for a position of Head Coach with the Sault Female Hockey Association (SFHA).

We understand the dedication and time required to be a good hockey coach and a mentor for our young girls. As a result, we have made it our mission to secure the most qualified coaches possible.

In order to apply for a Head Coach position the criteria is as follows:
- SFHA Coaching Application Form completed.
- Coaching Resume (if applicable)
- Photocopies/scans of Certifications
- Practice Plan
- Seasonal Plan
- OWHA Coaching Code of Conduct Form and SFHA Coach’s Contract completed and signed.
- Criminal Record Check Form completed and signed.
- Coach Philosophy & Seasonal Plan are in alignment with the values of SFHA.
- Willingness to pursue technical standards and direction as presented by SFHA.
- Willingness to work in cohesion with SFHA Director of Development, other SFHA Executive members, other Coaches, Parents, Players, within SFHA, NOHA, OWHA and Hockey Canada.
- Passion for coaching the game of hockey and the development of youth through sports.
- Track record of team success and evidence of individual development.
- HP1 certification required to coach U15 AA and U18 AA teams.
 
Submitting this application does not guarantee you will be selected to coach a Jr Greyhounds team. You will undergo an interview process with a SFHA Coaching Selection Committee as per Article 14 of the SFHA Policy and Procedures. Interviews are scheduled to take place at the end of February and the beginning of March.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Practice Planning

Applicants applying for a Head Coach position are to submit a 50min practice plan for the team you indicated in the 'teams applied for' section of this application. The practice plan will be designated to develop core technical skills for your team at the beginning of the season. Please write legibly on your practice plans. A sample blank practice plan located under the COACH/TRAINER/MANAGER tab has been provided for you to print for your use, or feel free to use your own template. Consider identifying key teaching points, corrective measures, drill instructions as to how the drill is to be executed - start/stop/flow/timing and how the goaltender(s) are to be involved in the drill.
